The Amazon Best Seller Badge

Many people feel that the Amazon Best Seller Badge for an eBook isn’t that important. Some believe this because it is based on the number of sales in a particular category or subgenre. They think that the badge is meaningless because some people game the system by finding categories with low sales and then have people they know buy just enough copies of their book to push them to the number one spot.

Suppose your eBook is in the correct categories for the subject matter and outperforms the other books. In that case, it should get that Best Seller Badge. When that happens, you should be proud. I don’t care if it’s because you sold five books or two hundred thousand. You have achieved something great. Once you see that orange image, you should brag and tell the world that you are the best in your category.

I recently received my first Best Seller Badge, and I will ensure everyone knows about it. I’m sticking that image all over that particular book on my website and social media posts about the book. That being said, I’m not rushing to put the words Best Selling Author on the covers of all my books. Not just because it may help increase your sales but because writing isn’t easy, and publishing is even harder.

I believe that I write interesting, engaging stories with believable characters. I also design all my covers and handle all my marketing/social media. I recently handed editing over to Aria J., who makes my work even better. Getting people to read your books is much harder than people can imagine, so I cherish each reader, especially those who leave written reviews and ratings.

The Amazon Best Seller Badge is something to be proud of, no matter how small or big you believe your success is.
