Day 5 – August 2, 2021

Day 4 – August 1, 2021

Today was quiet because I chose not to check new messages from the site. Honestly, it is because I enjoyed my conversation with Frank so much that didn’t want to talk to anyone else today. I did respond to messages from Darren and Evan, but I did refuse to video chat with Evan when he attempted to connect over the course of the day.

My first message from Frank included the endearment, my darling. He’s from London, that could be an everyday phrase, like sugar or sweetheart that we use in the southern US. With a time difference of six hours, he was resting towards the end of his day while I was just getting started with my Sunday. He may be catching a summer cold or having allergy issues. I sleep odd hours and it was close to noon, I think. My housemates and I were about to watch a movie. Frank and I chatted just a bit more and then he was silent. I assume that he was giving me space to do what I was doing and to do what he was doing.

At this time, I got a message from Evan. I told him that I was hanging out with my housemates to watch a movie. Evan wanted me to choose between a video chat with him and my plans. I told him that I would like to chat with him, but I had previous plans. He continued to initiate a conversation and even tried several times to video call. This became annoying quickly. Even with no responses from me, he continued.

I know that there is a learning curve when getting to know someone, but when a person says that they are doing something else, like watching a movie, shouldn’t you allow them to do that? This is the problem with younger people. They want to be the center of your world. I am a movie fan. When watching a movie, I don’t want to be disturbed unless it is about life, death, or food. I am also this way when I’m writing. Then again, it could be that I’m not into him enough to want to focus on him.

I sent a quick message to Frank checking on him to let him know that I hoped he was feeling better.
