2020 What a year!

It is finally December. If you are like me, you can’t wait to put 2020 in the review mirror of your life. I entered the year depressed and nearly suicidal. I got sick in January, and now based on my symptoms. I think it may have been COVID19. There is no way to prove or disprove it. I was fortunate not to be too ill. One of my roommates was much worse and still has issues. Again, we weren’t tested, so there is no way to know for sure.

February, while trying to make a little extra cash doing deliveries, I had a small fender bender. A few weeks later, Trump started talking about Coronavirus and how it was going to go away like magic. I didn’t believe him, and I can’t believe all that we have been through because of his inaction and lack of planning. I won’t go on about how bad it has been for the world, dealing with this Pandemic.

In October, I stopped wanting to end my life and got back to writing. With the exciting couple that took residence in my head, I regained my sanity and enthusiasm for living. I have often said that my characters tell me what their story is, and it is my privilege to put it out for the world to enjoy. I was excited when Gerald, my new leading man, begin to whisper into my ear.

The first thing he said to me was, “I’m in love.” I snorted and said, “So!” He was quiet for a moment, and then he said, “She reminds me of you in some ways.” Of course, he had my attention after that. I enjoyed listening to him. He eventually introduced me to Asia, and she is lovely. Still, I don’t know that Asia and I are much alike, other than our hair smelling like peppermint. The minute he started talking to me, others spoke as well. They wanted to know why I was writing his story when they had many more exciting things to say. Some even said, “We’ve been talking to you for a while now, but you couldn’t hear us. Why is he special?” I didn’t know what to tell them, but Gerald did. He told me to tell them that he wasn’t unique to me but that there was one person out there in the world who needed to hear it, and he was going to do whatever it took to get the words to flow from my fingertips until it was finished.

Gerald never told me who this story was for, and I have no way of ever guessing, but if you are the one who needed to read this love story, please let me know. If you aren’t the intended reader, share the story with a friend or family member and leave me a note in the review section on Amazon about your thoughts on Gerald and Asia. I promise to pass your comments on to him.
